Mobile phone flashlights light up PM Modi’s rally in Jamnagar – ThePrint – ANIFeed

Jamnagar (Gujarat) [India], November 28, (ANI): Prime minister Narendra Modi spoke at a series public meetings in Gujarat ahead of the Assembly election. Surat’s crowd responded enthusiastically and flashed their cellphone flashlights at him.

During the rally, PM Modi urged people to ensure BJP’s victory. “I am not here with you in the capacity of Prime Minister Modi but as your brother Modi. I have come here to meet you,” he said.

As the first phase nears completion of the Gujarat Assembly Election, parties are trying to get voters.

Prime Minister Modi hosted rallies at Jamnagar, Rajkot and other locations on Monday. During his address, PM spoke about the steps taken to boost ‘ease of living’, improve the water situation in Saurashtra, efforts for MSMEs and other development work.

He said, “Bharatiya Janata Party is a party connected to the soil, a party raised from among the common man, a party rooted in ideas. The country lost its money and there was corruption during the Congress years. The BJP government has worked to save every bit of people’s hard work.”

Attacking the Congress further, PM said, “BJP trusts people and therefore people trusts BJP. During their rule, Congress did not trust the people. The legacy of the British came to Congress.”

Gujarat Assembly elections are scheduled for December 1st and December 5th. The results of these phases will be announced on December 8.

The BJP won 99 out of a total 182 seats during the 2017 Gujarat polls. For the past 27 years, the party has been in power.

The party headed by Prime Minister NarendraModi, Union Home Secretary Amit Shah and CR Patil are aiming to win its highest number of seats, exceeding 140.

The state has been a stronghold of BJP for a long time and the party is determined to return to power for the seventh consecutive term. Modi has been Gujarat’s longest-serving Chief Minister from 2001 till 2014.

However, it is facing a tough electoral challenge from Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party(AAP), which has made Isudan Gadhvi their chief ministerial nominee.

The Congress hopes to also put its best foot forward in order to defeat the BJP. (ANI)
